AI wedding speech generators compared: ChatGPT, dedicated tools or a human writer
Last updated 25 October 2026
A dedicated AI wedding speech generator suits someone who wants guided questions and a finished draft in one sitting, ChatGPT suits a confident editor who can write a detailed prompt, and a human writer suits someone with time and budget who wants a person to shape it. None of them can supply the stories; those have to come from you.
For cost, time and refund details on DIY, ChatGPT and two professional writers, see our ChatGPT vs a speech writer vs doing it yourself comparison. This page looks closer at the dedicated generators and how to pick one.
Three kinds of help
| ChatGPT or another chatbot | A dedicated AI speech generator | A human speechwriter | |
|---|---|---|---|
| How you start | You write the prompt | A form or set of questions | An interview or questionnaire |
| What you get | Whatever you ask for, as many times as you ask | A set number of drafts or rewrites | A draft, then revisions with the writer |
| Best fit | You know what you want and will edit line by line | You want structure and a draft today | Short of time, wedding months away, budget for a person |
| Main risk | Generic, long or invented details if the prompt is thin | Same, if your answers are thin | Cost and lead time |
What the dedicated tools include
We checked three tools' own pages on 25 October 2026. We run one of them, so we describe it on the same terms and list it last. Prices change, so check before you buy.
| ToastWiz | Toastie | theweddingspeech.ai (ours) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | $39.90 for four speech drafts | "One-off purchase"; no price on its homepage or FAQ | $29.99 once, not a subscription |
| Before paying | The form is free, with a preview of the opening | "No sign up required" | Free preview after five questions |
| Drafts and rewrites | Four full drafts | Three drafts, plus AI revisions and on-page editing | One speech, up to 20 regenerations, plus your own edits |
| Refund | Within 10 days; a "100% money-back guarantee" | Within 7 days; not for purchases with a discount code | Full refund if you email within 7 days of purchase |
Other generators exist; we only list ones whose terms we could read on their own sites.
How to choose a generator
The same worries come up again and again in wedding forums: the speech sounds generic, it comes out the wrong length, and the price only appears after you have typed in your stories. These checks answer each one.
- Can you see the price before you start? You may spend twenty minutes on the questions. Look for a price on the homepage or a pricing page first. Ours shows "Free preview, $29.99 once, 20 rewrites, 7-day refund" on the homepage and above the first question.
- What happens if the first draft is wrong? Count the drafts or rewrites included, and check whether more cost extra. Compare four fixed drafts, three drafts with revisions, and 20 regenerations of one speech: they suit different ways of working.
- Can you set the length? A US maid of honor or best man toast is usually 2 to 5 minutes, and our length guide lists typical ranges for every speaker. Ours asks you to choose a duration; its shortest option is 3 to 5 minutes, so if you were asked for two minutes, plan to cut.
- Does it make things up? Ask the tool, or test the preview. Our writing instructions tell the AI to use only the facts you give and not to invent stories, dates or details. Check every line whichever tool you use.
- Is there a refund, and how long do you have? Read the refund page, not just the badge.
- Can you edit the text yourself? You will want to change words so it sounds like you.
Making any AI draft sound like you
Guests worry about AI speeches mostly because many sound like nobody in particular. Our guide on whether people can tell AI wrote a speech lists the giveaways. In short:
- Give it real material. Names, a place, a specific moment, something one of them always says. A generator with good questions helps, but the answers are yours.
- Cut anything untrue. If the draft adds a detail you did not give it, delete it.
- Rewrite the first and last lines yourself. They are the ones people remember.
- Read it aloud and time it. Swap any phrase you would never say out loud.
When a person is the better choice
If the wedding is months away, you have the budget, and you want someone to ask the follow-up questions and shape the speech with you, a human writer is worth it. If you need a draft this week, or you want to keep control of every word, ChatGPT or a dedicated generator fits better.

Frequently asked questions
Is an AI wedding speech generator better than ChatGPT?
Not automatically. A dedicated generator asks you structured questions and usually charges once; ChatGPT can do the same job if you write a detailed prompt and edit hard. Both can only be as specific as the stories you give them.
How much do AI wedding speech generators cost?
On 25 October 2026, ToastWiz listed $39.90 for four drafts and theweddingspeech.ai listed $29.99 for one speech with up to 20 regenerations. Toastie's homepage and FAQ described a one-off purchase but showed no price.
Can people tell a speech was written by AI?
Often, if it has no real stories, uses stock phrases or runs long. Whatever tool you use, put in your own details, cut anything that is not true, and read it aloud before the day.
