Wedding speechwriting services in the UK: London and national prices compared

Last updated 6 November 2026

Wedding speechwriting services in the UK charge from about £15 for an online tool to £445 for a bespoke speech from a named writer, and most take about a week. This guide lists five services and ours, with the price, turnaround and inclusions each one states on its own website.

Wedding speechwriting services compared

We read each row from the service's own page on 6 November 2026. Where a page states no price or turnaround, the table says so. We never estimate.

Our price is in US dollars, because that is how we charge. We run theweddingspeech.ai, so read our row with that in mind. Great Speech Writing was the only service whose own pages we read that gave a London address. Other London writers exist, but we only tabled services whose own pages we read.

What a professional speechwriter costs

The bespoke human writers we checked sit between £375 and £445. SpeechAnvil is the exception at £14.99 to £24.99, and its page describes an online interview rather than a call with a person. Great Speech Writing publishes no price on its packages page, so the honest answer for it is "ask".

Extras change the total. Delivery coaching is a separate fee at Speechy (£225) and All Speeches Great And Small (from £295 a session). All Speeches Great And Small says full payment is due up front when you book.

How long they take

A week is the usual promise. All Speeches Great And Small says "delivery within 7 days", and Speechy emails a first draft "within a week of your research call". That week starts after your call, so book the call early. Speechy encourages booking two to three months before the wedding.

What you get

At the bespoke end you get a conversation, a written draft and revisions. Speechy writes the draft with one writer and has a second team member edit it. All Speeches Great And Small and All Write On The Night both offer unlimited revisions. Delivery coaching, where a coach rehearses the speech with you, is either an add-on or a feature of the higher tier.

When a writer is better

A human writer is the better choice in three situations.

  • You need to be interviewed. If you cannot say what you want to say, a writer who asks you questions on a call can pull out stories you did not think were speech material. An AI form cannot follow up.
  • You want the speech to sound like you. A person can hear how you talk. An AI draft matches the details you type in, and you do the voice-matching by editing.
  • You want coaching. Great Speech Writing, SpeechAnvil, Speechy and All Speeches Great And Small all offer delivery coaching in some form. We do not.

When an AI draft is enough

If you already have the stories, a deadline within days, or a budget of $29.99, an AI draft gets you a full first version to edit. You answer five questions, see a free preview, and pay only for the full speech. Our guide on ChatGPT vs a speech writer vs doing it yourself sets out the trade-offs, including the cases where doing it yourself wins.

If your main worry is fear of the microphone rather than the writing, read wedding speech nerves before paying for either.

Writing it yourself

Free, and many people do it. Our guide to writing a wedding speech takes you through it step by step. Hiring a writer buys time and a second opinion, not a better set of stories.

Before you pay anyone

  • Ask what happens if you dislike the first draft.
  • Ask whether coaching is included.
  • Ask when payment is taken.
  • Check the price on the day you buy. Every price above was true on 6 November 2026 and may change.
